Your first stop on the Normandy beaches tour is Point du Hoc where you will see the numerous bomb craters which remain untouched since the war. Climb through the various bunkers to witness how the Germans used the cliffs to their advantage and imagine how the Americans attacked and captured the battery after scaling the cliffs.
Next, visit Omaha Beach, one of the key landmarks of the Normandy D-Day beaches, where you’ll explore 8 kilometers of coastline facing the English Channel. Along the shore, you’ll encounter the striking Les Braves sculpture, known as ‘The Braves,’ which honors the soldiers who bravely fought during the war
You will have time to stop for lunch at Omaha Beach. You can dine in La Sapiniere or L’Embusqué.
Next, continue the tour to the Normandy American Cemetery, where you can pay tribute to the brave soldiers who fought in the D-Day landings. In 2019, President Macron and President Trump visited the cemetery together to honor the 75th anniversary of D-Day. You can also visit the Normandy American Cemetery visitor center, which features a detailed exhibition about the historic battle.
